Donald Collins has been teaching in the San Dieguito Union High School District for more than 20 years. He’s credentialed in math and English and holds Masters degrees in Educational Administration and Educational Technology.

He was recognized as Teacher of the Year at Sunset High School in 2002 and at Torrey Pines High School in 2015.

Donald Collins has created award-winning socio-emotional wellness and student connection programs for comprehensive high school campuses, developed successful intervention programs for struggling at-risk students as an independent study advisor and teacher.  He also helped create and run the district’s independent study on-line program for five years.

Donald has worked as a new teacher trainer for SDUHSD for the past 20 years. In 2015 Donald developed and ran the national pilot Inspire Teacher Training program for SDUHSD in partnership with Sanford Inspire and National University. (https://youtu.be/B0N9Oe2Ud3g)

Donald and his husband Anthony welcomed their twin sons Floyd and Stanley in April 2018.
